whipped goat cheese - featured image

A simple yet elegant appetizer combining creamy whipped goat cheese, sweet fig jam, and salty prosciutto for a flavor-packed bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces goat cheese, softened
  • 23 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup fig jam
  • 68 slices prosciutto, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, finely chopped (optional)
  • Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
  • Crostini or crackers, for serving

Instructions

  1. Add the softened goat cheese and heavy cream to a food processor or stand mixer. Blend on medium speed until the mixture is smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes. Stop occasionally to scrape down the sides to ensure even mixing.
  2. Add freshly cracked black pepper and the finely chopped thyme (if using) to the whipped cheese. Blend for another 30 seconds to incorporate the flavors.
  3. Arrange your crostini or crackers on a serving platter. If using baguette slices, toast them briefly in the oven for extra crunch and flavor.
  4. Spread or pipe a dollop of the whipped goat cheese onto each crostini or cracker. Top with a teaspoon of fig jam, spreading gently over the cheese.
  5. Tear the slices of prosciutto into smaller pieces and gently drape them over the fig jam. Let them cascade naturally for a rustic look.
  6. Sprinkle a few fresh thyme leaves or drizzle honey on top for an extra touch of flavor and presentation.

Notes

[‘Choose high-quality goat cheese, fig jam, and prosciutto for the best flavor.’, ‘Toast baguette slices for added crunch and flavor.’, ‘Assemble the dish just before serving to keep the crostini or crackers crisp.’, ‘For a vegetarian version, omit the prosciutto and use roasted red peppers or caramelized onions.’]
