Savory Cheesy Garlic Herb Monkey Bread

A quick and easy pull-apart bread bursting with garlicky, cheesy goodness and fragrant herbs, perfect for snacks or gatherings.

  • 16 ounces refrigerated biscuit dough (about 450 grams)
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (about 85 grams)
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese (about 100 grams)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (about 100 grams)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (about 50 grams), optional
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease your bundt pan or skillet with butter or nonstick spray.
  2. Cut the biscuit dough into bite-sized pieces, about 6 pieces per biscuit.
  3. In a small bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Place dough pieces in a large bowl and pour the garlic herb butter mixture over them. Toss gently to coat every piece.
  5. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese over the bottom of the prepared pan.
  6. Layer half of the buttered dough pieces on top of the cheese.
  7. Repeat layering with the remaining shredded cheese and the rest of the garlic butter-coated dough pieces.
  8. Sprinkle grated Parmesan evenly over the top.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and cheese is bubbling. Tent with foil if top browns too quickly.
  10. Remove from oven and let cool in the pan for about 10 minutes to set.
  11. Serve warm by pulling apart the cheesy pieces. Optionally brush with extra garlic butter before serving.

Notes

Use fresh garlic for best flavor. Grease pan well to prevent sticking. Let bread cool slightly before pulling apart to avoid mess. Can substitute herbs and cheeses for variations. For dairy-free, use vegan butter and cheese. Gluten-free dough alternatives can be used but texture will vary.
