A vibrant, ruby-red hibiscus punch with fresh strawberries and a hint of citrus, perfect for a refreshing and sweet drink on hot days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large hibiscus tea bags
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved (or frozen)
  • 6 cups water (4 cups for steeping tea, 2 cups for diluting)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar or honey (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 small orange, thinly sliced (optional, for garnish)
  • Ice cubes as needed

Instructions

  1. Bring 4 cups (960 ml) of water to a boil. Remove from heat and add hibiscus tea bags. Steep for 15 minutes until water turns deep ruby red.
  2. Remove tea bags and discard. While tea is warm, stir in ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar or honey until dissolved.
  3. Hull and halve 2 cups (about 300 g) fresh strawberries. If using frozen, let thaw slightly.
  4. Pour sweetened hibiscus tea into a large pitcher. Add 2 cups (480 ml) cold water to dilute. Add strawberries and stir gently.
  5. Add 2 tablespoons (30 ml) fresh lime juice and stir. Add thinly sliced orange rounds for garnish if desired.
  6. Refrigerate punch for at least 1 hour to chill and allow flavors to meld.
  7. Serve over ice cubes. Garnish with extra strawberry slices or mint sprigs if desired.
  8. Optional: Add 1 cup (240 ml) club soda just before serving for a sparkling version.

Notes

Do not boil hibiscus tea for too long to avoid bitterness. Sweeten while tea is warm for better dissolution. Frozen strawberries can be used and help chill the punch. Chill for at least 1 hour for best flavor. Adjust sweetness after chilling if needed. Strain tea for a smoother drink or leave petals for rustic charm. For sparkling punch, add club soda just before serving.
