A quick and easy homemade strawberry margarita cocktail that blends fresh strawberries, tequila, and citrus for a perfect summer party drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (150g) fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 2 ounces (60 ml) tequila blanco
  • 1 ounce (30 ml) triple sec or orange liqueur
  • 1 ounce (30 ml) fresh lime juice
  • ½ ounce (15 ml) simple syrup
  • Salt for rimming the glass (coarse sea salt preferred)
  • Ice cubes (about 1 to 1.5 cups or 240 to 360 ml)
  • Sugar (optional, for rimming if preferred sweeter)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your glasses by rubbing a lime wedge around the rim, then dip the edge into a plate of coarse sea salt or sugar. Set aside.
  2. Place the fresh strawberries in a blender or cocktail shaker. If using a shaker, gently muddle the berries until chunky puree forms. If using a blender, pulse 2-3 times to keep some texture.
  3. Add 2 ounces tequila blanco, 1 ounce triple sec, and 1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice to the strawberry mixture.
  4. Pour in ½ ounce simple syrup. Taste and adjust sweetness if desired.
  5. Add enough ice to fill the blender or shaker (about 1 to 1.5 cups).
  6. Blend on high for 15-20 seconds until smooth and frosty, or shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until well chilled.
  7. Pour the cocktail into the prepared glasses and garnish with a fresh strawberry or lime wheel.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh lime juice and ripe strawberries for best flavor. Adjust sweetness last to balance tartness. Chill glasses before serving for a colder drink. For a frozen version, add more ice and blend until slushy. Gentle muddling avoids bitter flavors from seeds. Salt or sugar rims can be used based on preference.
