The gooey caramel, rich chocolate, and buttery crumble make these Knock You Naked Bars a decadent dessert that’s easy to prepare and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box of yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 bag of caramels (14 oz), unwrapped
  • 1/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Optional: chopped nuts or shredded coconut

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line your baking pan with aluminum foil or parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, melted butter, and evaporated milk. Stir until a thick dough forms. Press half of the dough evenly into the prepared pan.
  3. Bake the base layer for 10 minutes, or until slightly firm. Remove from the oven and set aside.
  4. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the unwrapped caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring each time, until smooth and fully melted.
  5. Pour the melted caramel over the baked base layer. Spread it evenly with a spatula.
  6. Sprinkle the semi-sweet chocolate chips over the caramel layer.
  7. Take the remaining dough and flatten small pieces between your hands. Place these pieces gently over the chocolate chips. It’s okay if some caramel peeks through!
  8. Return the pan to the oven and bake for 25 minutes, or until the top is golden-brown.
  9. Allow the bars to cool completely before slicing. Use a sharp knife and wipe it clean between cuts for neat slices.

Notes

Let the bars cool completely before slicing to ensure the caramel sets properly. Customize with your favorite toppings like crushed pretzels, sea salt, or sprinkles.
