Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • White frosting or icing for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth and glossy.
  3. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt to remove lumps.
  4. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  5. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan for at least 30 minutes.
  8. Cut the cooled brownies into football shapes using a knife or cookie cutter.
  9. Fill a piping bag with white frosting and pipe laces onto each football-shaped brownie. Let the icing set before serving.

Notes

Cool brownies completely before cutting to avoid mess. Practice piping the laces on parchment paper before decorating. Use parchment paper for easy removal from the pan.
