A festive and flavorful turkey breast recipe with a sweet and tangy cranberry-orange glaze, perfect for holiday gatherings and smaller dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 boneless, skin-on turkey breast (about 34 pounds)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries (frozen works too, but make sure they’re thawed)
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice (from about 2 oranges)
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of ground cloves

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Ensure your turkey breast is fully thawed and pat it dry with paper towels.
  2. Rub the turkey breast with olive oil or melted butter. Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper evenly over the surface of the turkey. Place it on a roasting rack inside a baking dish.
  3. In a small saucepan, combine the cranberries, orange juice, honey, brown sugar, orange zest, cinnamon, and cloves. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries burst and the mixture thickens into a glossy glaze, about 10–15 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. Place the seasoned turkey breast into the preheated oven and roast for about 20–25 minutes.
  5. Remove the turkey breast from the oven and generously brush the cranberry orange glaze over it. Return the turkey to the oven.
  6. Continue roasting for another 30–40 minutes, basting with the glaze every 10–15 minutes. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  7. Remove the turkey breast from the oven and let it rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute and ensures a moist turkey.
  8. Slice the turkey breast and drizzle with any remaining glaze. Enjoy!

Notes

[‘Let the turkey rest for 10–15 minutes after cooking to keep it juicy.’, ‘Use a meat thermometer to ensure the turkey is cooked to 165°F (74°C).’, ‘Baste the turkey breast with glaze every 10–15 minutes during the second roast for a caramelized finish.’, ‘Customize the glaze by adding more honey for sweetness or more orange zest for extra citrus flavor.’, ‘If fresh cranberries are unavailable, use frozen or canned whole berry cranberry sauce and adjust the sugar in the glaze.’]
