A quick and easy fresh beet juice recipe combining beets, citrus, and ginger for a natural energy boost without caffeine jitters. Perfect for mornings, workouts, or refreshing gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium-sized fresh beets, peeled and chopped
  • 2 medium fresh oranges, peeled and segmented
  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled
  • 1 large carrot, peeled and chopped (optional)
  • Juice of half a fresh lemon
  • 1 cup (240 ml) cold water, to adjust consistency if needed
  • Ice cubes (optional, for serving chilled)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients (10 minutes): Peel the beets carefully and chop into 1-inch pieces. Peel and segment the oranges, peel the ginger, and chop the carrot if using.
  2. Juice the Ingredients (5-7 minutes): If using a juicer, feed the beets, carrot, oranges, and ginger through it in batches. If using a blender, add chopped beets, carrot, ginger, and 1 cup cold water. Blend on high until smooth.
  3. Strain the Juice (if using blender) (3-5 minutes): Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer or nut milk bag, pressing gently to extract as much liquid as possible.
  4. Add Fresh Lemon Juice (1 minute): Stir in the juice of half a lemon to brighten and balance flavors. Adjust with more lemon or orange juice if needed.
  5. Serve Immediately or Chill (optional): Pour juice into glasses over ice cubes if desired. Best enjoyed fresh.

Notes

Use gloves when peeling beets to avoid staining. For a smoother juice, use a juicer; blending keeps more fiber but requires straining for clarity. Clean equipment promptly to prevent beet stains. Prep ingredients ahead and juice fresh for best nutrients. Adjust sweetness with apple or honey if desired. Store juice in airtight container in fridge up to 24 hours; avoid freezing.
