A quick and easy fresh guacamole dip with a zesty punch of lime and jalapeño, perfect for snacks, parties, and family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large ripe avocados (medium-soft but not mushy)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 small jalapeño pepper, seeded and finely chopped
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro leaves, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons red onion, finely diced
  • 1 small garlic clove, minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • A few grinds of black pepper
  • ½ small tomato, seeded and diced (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut the avocados in half, remove pits, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
  2. Finely chop the jalapeño (remove seeds for less heat), red onion, cilantro, and tomato if using. Mince the garlic clove finely.
  3. Using a fork or potato masher, gently mash the avocado to your preferred texture, leaving some small lumps for texture if desired.
  4. Pour in the fresh lime juice and stir well to brighten flavor and prevent browning.
  5. Add the chopped jalapeño, red onion, cilantro, tomato (if using), and minced garlic. Stir to combine evenly.
  6. Season with salt and black pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning or lime juice as needed.
  7. Optionally, cover and let rest at room temperature for 5-10 minutes to meld flavors before serving.

Notes

Use ripe Haas avocados for best creamy texture. Remove jalapeño seeds for milder heat. Press plastic wrap directly onto guacamole surface to prevent browning. Adjust lime juice and salt to taste. For a dairy-free creamy twist, stir in coconut yogurt.
