Soft, airy, and perfectly golden gluten free donuts that are beginner-friendly and customizable with your favorite glazes and toppings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups gluten free all-purpose flour (with xanthan gum)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup milk (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your donut pan and set it aside.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the gluten free flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter, milk, vanilla extract, and eggs until well combined.
  4. Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring gently. The batter should be smooth but not overmixed.
  5. Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full. Don’t overfill, as the donuts will expand while baking.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the donuts are lightly golden and spring back when touched.
  7. Remove the donuts from the oven and let them cool in the pan for 5 minutes. Then transfer them to a cooling rack.
  8. Prepare your glaze (if using) while the donuts cool completely.
  9. Dip each donut into the glaze, letting the excess drip off, and add any toppings. Allow the glaze to set before serving.

Notes

[‘Don’t overmix the batter to avoid dense donuts.’, ‘Ensure eggs and milk are at room temperature for smoother mixing.’, ‘Lightly grease your donut pan to prevent sticking.’, ‘Let the donuts cool completely before glazing to prevent the glaze from running off.’]
