A seasonal margarita featuring apple cider, cinnamon, and citrus for a perfect autumn-inspired cocktail. Ideal for Thanksgiving gatherings or cozy nights with friends.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ounces silver or reposado tequila
  • 1 ounce orange liqueur (Triple sec or Cointreau)
  • 2 ounces fresh, unfiltered apple cider
  • 1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons coarse sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for rim)
  • Ice
  • Optional garnishes: thin apple slices, cinnamon sticks, sprig of rosemary

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Rim: On a small plate, mix 2 tablespoons of coarse sugar with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of your glass, then dip the rim into the cinnamon-sugar mixture to coat. Set the glass aside.
  2. Mix the Margarita: In a cocktail shaker, combine tequila, orange liqueur, apple cider, lime juice, maple syrup, and a pinch of cinnamon.
  3. Shake It Up: Fill the shaker with ice, secure the lid, and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until frosty.
  4. Strain and Serve: Fill your prepared glass with ice and strain the margarita into the glass. Garnish with an apple slice or cinnamon stick if desired.
  5. Repeat: If serving a crowd, repeat the process or make larger batches ahead of time.

Notes

[‘Chill your glasses in the freezer for 10-15 minutes before serving for extra refreshment.’, ‘Balance the sweetness by reducing maple syrup if your apple cider is very sweet.’, ‘Experiment with garnishes like rosemary sprigs or dried orange slices for added aesthetic appeal.’, ‘For a mocktail version, replace tequila and orange liqueur with sparkling water and a splash of orange juice.’]
