Easy Spiderweb Snack Mix for Halloween Parties

This easy spiderweb Halloween party snack mix is the kind of recipe that saves you when you’re scrambling. It takes fifteen minutes, uses stuff you probably already have, and looks way more impressive than it has any right to.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bag (12 ounces) white chocolate melting wafers or white chocolate chips
  • 3 cups Bugles original flavor
  • 2 cups mini pretzel twists
  • 2 cups Honey Nut Cheerios or similar O-shaped cereal
  • 1 cup roasted salted peanuts
  • 1 cup candy corn
  • 2 tablespoons orange and black sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the Bugles, mini pretzels, Honey Nut Cheerios, peanuts, and candy corn. Toss gently so everything is evenly distributed. Set aside.
  3. Place the white chocolate melting wafers or chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval, until completely smooth. This usually takes about 1-2 minutes total.
  4. Transfer the melted white chocolate to a small piping bag or zip-top bag. Snip off a tiny corner (about 1/8 inch). Drizzle the chocolate over the snack mix in a zigzag pattern.
  5. Take a toothpick or wooden skewer and gently drag it through the drizzled chocolate in a spiral motion, starting from the center and moving outward. Then drag lines from the center to the edges like spokes on a wheel to create a spiderweb pattern. Work quickly while the chocolate is still wet.
  6. While the chocolate is still tacky, sprinkle the orange and black sprinkles over the top. Press them in gently so they stick.
  7. Allow the snack mix to sit at room temperature until the chocolate is completely firm, about 20-30 minutes. If you’re in a hurry, pop it in the fridge for 10 minutes.
  8. Once set, break the snack mix into clusters. Don’t worry about making them uniform—the irregular pieces look more natural and rustic.

Notes

If using white chocolate chips instead of melting wafers, add a teaspoon of coconut oil to help them melt smoothly. Work quickly when creating the spiderweb pattern as the chocolate sets fast. For a nut-free version, skip the peanuts and add more cereal or mini marshmallows. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
