Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts, trimmed
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix or homemade
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Trim excess fat from the chicken breasts and pat them dry with paper towels.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning evenly over the chicken.
  3. Cut the softened cream cheese into chunks and scatter them on top of the chicken. Pour in the chicken broth and add the garlic powder.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and can be shredded easily.
  5. Use two forks to shred the chicken directly in the crock pot. Stir to combine with the sauce.
  6. If desired, add the butter to the sauce and stir until melted for extra richness.
  7. Sprinkle fresh parsley on top before serving. Pair with rice, mashed potatoes, or steamed veggies for a complete meal.

Notes

[‘Use softened cream cheese for a smoother sauce.’, ‘Stick to the recommended cooking times to keep the chicken tender and juicy.’, ‘Add veggies like carrots or mushrooms in the last hour of cooking for a heartier dish.’, ‘Taste the sauce before serving and adjust with salt or pepper if needed.’]
