Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (10 sheets) refrigerated egg roll wrappers (or spring roll wrappers)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1/4 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Vegetable oil for frying (or olive oil)
  • Optional: red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp dried dill
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice or white vinegar
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine shredded mozzarella, sliced pepperoni, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder. Mix gently.
  2. Lay one egg roll wrapper on a clean, dry surface with one corner pointing toward you (diamond shape).
  3. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce into the center of the wrapper, then top with 2 tablespoons of the cheese and pepperoni mixture. Do not overfill.
  4. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, tuck in the sides snugly, then roll tightly toward the top corner. Dab a little water on the final corner edge to seal.
  5. Pour 1-2 inches of vegetable oil into a skillet and heat over medium-high to about 350°F (175°C).
  6. Carefully place 3-4 roll-ups into hot oil, spacing them out. Fry 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Flip gently with tongs.
  7. Remove roll-ups and drain on paper towels. Let rest a few minutes before serving.
  8. While roll-ups cook, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, dried parsley, dill, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, lemon juice, and pepper in a small bowl. Chill until serving.

Notes

Keep wrappers moist with a damp towel to prevent drying. Seal edges with water to avoid oil seepage. Maintain oil temperature around 350°F for best results. Drain roll-ups on paper towels to keep crispy. Baking and air frying are healthier alternatives. Store leftovers in airtight container in fridge up to 3 days. Reheat in oven or air fryer for best texture.
