Quick and easy crispy donuts made from canned biscuit dough using an air fryer, topped with a simple powdered sugar glaze. Perfect for a sweet treat ready in under 15 minutes without the mess of deep frying.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can canned biscuit dough (recommend Pillsbury flaky layers)
  • Vegetable or canola oil spray (for greasing the air fryer basket)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (sifted)
  • 23 tablespoons milk (whole or 2%, or almond/oat milk for dairy-free)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Cinnamon (optional, for glaze or sprinkling)
  • Butter (melted, for brushing on donuts after air frying)

Instructions

  1. Open the canned biscuit dough and separate each biscuit.
  2. Using a small round cookie cutter or bottle cap (about 1 inch diameter), cut out the centers of each biscuit to create donut shapes. Save the centers for mini donut holes.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 3 minutes.
  4. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with vegetable or canola oil spray to prevent sticking.
  5. Place the donut shapes in a single layer in the basket, leaving space between them.
  6. Air fry the donuts for 5-6 minutes, flipping halfway through (around 3 minutes), until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Air fry the donut holes alongside the donuts for 4-5 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  8. While donuts cook, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make a smooth but slightly thick glaze.
  9. Brush the warm donuts lightly with melted butter immediately after air frying.
  10. Dip or drizzle the donuts with the glaze and place them on a wire rack to let the glaze set for a few minutes.
  11. Serve the donuts warm for best taste and texture.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure donuts crisp properly. Flip donuts halfway through cooking for even browning. Brush with melted butter immediately after air frying to help glaze stick. Adjust glaze thickness by adding more powdered sugar if too runny. For gluten-free option, use gluten-free biscuit dough and adjust air frying time accordingly.
