A festive and cozy pigs in a blanket wreath ring perfect for game nights and gatherings, served with a tangy and slightly sweet mustard dip.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tube (8 oz / 227 g) crescent roll dough
  • 24 mini cocktail sausages (12 oz / 340 g), pork or beef
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) yellow mustard
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) honey
  • 1 large egg beaten with 1 tbsp water (egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp poppy seeds or sesame seeds (optional)
  • Fresh herbs like chopped parsley or chives (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean surface and press seams together to form one large rectangle about 9×12 inches.
  3. Cut the dough into 24 equal strips, about 1 inch wide.
  4. Wrap each mini sausage with a strip of dough, starting at one end and rolling toward the other, seam side down.
  5. Arrange the wrapped sausages in a circular wreath shape on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a 3-inch diameter space in the center for the mustard dip bowl.
  6. Brush the entire wreath generously with egg wash and sprinkle poppy or sesame seeds on top if using.
  7. Bake the wreath for 20-25 minutes until the dough is puffed, golden, and sausages are heated through. Check at 18 minutes if your oven runs hot.
  8. While baking, whisk together yellow mustard and honey in a small bowl until smooth and glossy.
  9. Remove the wreath from the oven and carefully place the mustard dip bowl in the center. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
  10. Let the wreath cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Press crescent roll seams firmly to prevent unraveling. Use egg wash for a golden crust and to help seeds stick. If dough browns too fast, tent with foil. Let wreath cool slightly before serving to set dough. Can be assembled ahead and refrigerated unbaked for up to 24 hours. Leftovers can be frozen for up to 2 months.
