Fluffy, golden donuts with a festive edible gold glitter finish, perfect for cozy mornings or celebrations. Easy to make with simple pantry ingredients and a light, airy texture.

  • 2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¾ cup (180ml) milk, room temperature (whole or dairy-free)
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 4 tablespoons (60g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Edible gold glitter, as needed (food-safe brand)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your donut pan lightly with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and cinnamon until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix wet ingredients: milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.
  4. Slowly pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and gently fold together using a spatula just until combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Fill each donut mold about ¾ full. Tap the pan lightly on the counter to release air bubbles.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and donuts spring back lightly when touched.
  7. Remove from oven and cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Once cool, brush each donut lightly with melted butter and immediately sprinkle edible gold glitter on top.

Notes

Use room temperature eggs and milk for best texture. Do not overmix batter to keep donuts fluffy. If batter is too thick, add a tablespoon of milk. Tent donuts with foil if browning too quickly. Use food-safe edible glitter only. Muffin tin can be used if donut pan is unavailable.
