A fun and delicious 7-layer dip designed to look like a football field, featuring layers of refried beans, guacamole, sour cream yard lines, pico de gallo, and toppings. Perfect for game day or any party.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (16 oz) refried beans
  • 1 packet (or 2 tablespoons) taco seasoning
  • 3 large ripe avocados
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 12 tablespoons milk (optional, for thinning sour cream)
  • 2 large Roma tomatoes, seeded and diced
  • ¼ cup finely diced red onion
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 small jalapeño, seeded and minced (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce (iceberg or romaine)
  • 1 cup shredded Mexican blend cheese
  • ¼ cup sliced black olives
  • 23 green onions, sliced
  • Tortilla chips for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix refried beans with taco seasoning until well combined. Spread evenly over the bottom of a large serving platter or 9×13-inch dish to form a rectangle.
  2. Cut avocados in half, remove pits, and scoop flesh into a medium bowl. Add lime juice and salt. Mash with a fork to desired consistency (slightly chunky or smooth). Spread guacamole evenly over the bean layer.
  3. In a small bowl, stir sour cream until smooth. If too thick, add milk 1 teaspoon at a time until pipeable. Transfer to a piping bag or zip-top bag with a small corner snipped off. Pipe five parallel lines across the guacamole for yard lines. Optionally, pipe a shorter line in the center for the 50-yard line and numbers in end zones.
  4. Spoon pico de gallo over the sour cream lines, being careful not to smear them. Sprinkle shredded lettuce evenly over the dip. Add shredded cheese, black olives, and sliced green onions.
  5. Optional: Create goal posts at each end using pretzel sticks for uprights and a small piece of cheese or bell pepper strip for the crossbar. Gently press into the dip.
  6. Serve immediately or chill for up to 1 hour. Serve with sturdy tortilla chips.

Notes

To prevent guacamole from browning, press plastic wrap directly onto its surface before adding sour cream. For best results, assemble no more than 2 hours before serving. Use a sturdy chip like Tostitos Scoops for scooping.
