Baked French Dip Biscuits - featured image

These bite-sized biscuits combine the flavors of French dip sandwiches with gooey cheese and a savory au jus dipping sauce, perfect for parties or family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (flaky layers preferred)
  • 8 slices deli roast beef (thinly sliced)
  • 4 slices provolone cheese (cut in half)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Open the can of biscuit dough and gently separate each biscuit. Flatten each one slightly to create a larger circle.
  3. Place a slice of roast beef and half a slice of provolone cheese onto each biscuit. Fold the edges of the biscuit dough around the filling, pinching them to seal.
  4. Place the stuffed biscuits seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them.
  5. Melt the butter and stir in the garlic powder. Use a pastry brush to coat the tops of the biscuits generously.
  6. Bake the biscuits for 12–15 minutes, or until they’re golden brown and puffed up.
  7. While the biscuits are baking, combine the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and dried thyme in a small saucepan. Heat over medium-low until warm, stirring occasionally.
  8. Remove the biscuits from the oven and let them cool for a couple of minutes. Serve with the warm au jus dipping sauce on the side.

Notes

[‘Seal the edges of the biscuit dough carefully to prevent cheese from leaking during baking.’, ‘Thinly sliced roast beef works best for folding into the biscuits.’, ‘Brush butter generously on top for a golden-brown crust.’, ‘Check the biscuits around the 12-minute mark to avoid overbrowning.’, ‘Serve warm for the best texture and flavor.’]
